The Human Sciences Professional Blog is published by Kappa Omicron Nu (KON) as a forum for human sciences professionals to share their professional experiences and research to gain visibility for their interests and achievements. All human sciences professionals are invited to participate.
The Blog allows individuals to engage with the human sciences community (as well as with the public) to promote their ideas, views, philosophies, research, and current work in making a difference in the lives of individuals, families, and communities. Blogging also offers a creative outlet to share interests and to find others who share them. Certainly, such links enhance opportunities for outreach and serving the public good. What’s more: it feels good to be in print!
Posts should communicate the blogger’s experiences and perspectives and educate the reader. The blog should be 500 – 1000 words in length (greater length with permission). The blog should focus on a self-selected topic and give appropriate detail and attribution.
The target start date is October 1, 2013 for the 2013-14 fiscal year (which runs through June 30, 2014). Each regular blogger will need to submit a minimum of five manuscripts; guest bloggers will also be accepted. Individual due dates can be developed to suit the blogger. See the application at www.kon.org/kon-blog-application.html
Posts will be submitted by bloggers for review by the Kappa Omicron Nu Editor before the IT staff posts the submissions. For further information, contact Dorothy Mitstifer at firstname.lastname@example.org (517.351.8335).
