The Human Sciences Student Blog is published by Kappa Omicron Nu (KON) as a forum for human sciences students (both undergraduate and graduate) to share their educational experiences and research to gain visibility for their interests and achievements. All human sciences students are welcome to participate.
The Blog allows individuals to engage with the human sciences community (as well as with the public) to hone writing and communicating skills. Blogging also offers a creative outlet to share interests and to find others who share them. Certainly, employers are looking for great communicators. Successful bloggers will have a “leg up” on offers for jobs and further education.
Posts should communicate the blogger’s experiences and perspectives and educate the reader. The blog should focus on a topic and give appropriate detail and attribution.
The target start date is October 1, 2013 for the 2013-14 academic year. Each regular blogger will need to submit a minimum of five manuscripts; guest bloggers will also be accepted. Individual due dates can be developed to suit the blogger. See the application at www.kon.org/kon-blog-application.html
Posts will be submitted by bloggers for review by the Kappa Omicron Nu Editor before the IT staff posts the submissions. College credit may be sought but not guaranteed. For further information, contact Dorothy Mitstifer at firstname.lastname@example.org (517.351.8335).
